A combination of spices is essential to make a special biryani. You can prepare special spices at home. Take 1 tablespoon of mustard seeds, 1 tablespoon of shahi cumin, some pepper, two pieces of cinnamon, a few pieces of black cardamom, and white cardamom. Lightly fry these on low heat, then cool them down and make a paste using a blender or any other method. This makes your special spices ready for biryani.
